 如果在文章中使用了NSG小鼠品系,请引用原始文献并在材料与方法部分注明JAX品系号#005557NOD.Cg-Prkdcscid Il2rgtm1Wjl/SzJ小鼠——通常以其商品名 NOD scid gamma (NSG™) 为人所知——既不表达 Prkdc 基因,也不表达 X 连锁 Il2rg 基因。NSG 小鼠可存活且可繁育、体型正常,无任何可见的身体和行为异常。淋巴组织的组织学检查显示,胸腺中无淋巴样细胞和某些囊性结构,脾脏中无滤泡,淋巴结细胞结构显著减少。NSG 小鼠缺乏成熟淋巴细胞、无法检测到血清 Ig,自然杀伤 (NK) 细胞的细胞毒活性极低。该品系在经过亚致死辐射处理后也不易发生淋巴瘤。NSG 小鼠经证明可支持高效的人CD34+ 造血干细胞移植,适用于长期稳定的异种移植研究。NSG小鼠对于可致糖尿病的链佐霉素(STZ)高度敏感。
尾部扭曲,头部歪斜,转圈以及后肢无力在NSG品系中的发生率很低,在实验用未经处理的幼鼠中的发生率通常低于0.01%, 在经过人源化或其它研究处理的成年鼠中发生率通常低于0.5%。

需要注意的是,NSG品系中IL-2受体gamma链已经完全敲除,和此文献中描述的表达IL-2受体gamma链截短体的品系有所区别: "Modulation of hematopoiesis in mice with a truncated mutant of the interleukin-2 receptor gamma chain" Ohbo K et al. Blood 1996. 87:956-67.
